As with most chain restaurants, it fails to get above mediocre. This could be a good thing since a lot of chains fall well below the mediocre mark. Happy hour offers some decent drink & appetizer specials. The bar is good sized, the bathrooms are clean & it offers up a fairly cozy vibe. I had the BBQ Salmon salad and my girlfriend had the wild mushroom enchiladas $13. Both dishes were tasty.

Me and the BF went for the small plates then argued about which ones to order so I got no small plates. I'll have to go back to check them out. The decor was nice and staff was friendly. I had a burger with a stuffed mushroom with herbed cream cheese and horseradish sauce-It was ok, not to die for. The baked potato soup was on the other hand awesome. BF had the pickle fries they were weird but good. The buffalo chicken flatbread didnt have much chicken or anything on it he only ate one piece so it must not have been that great. He said the spicy chicken avocado eggrolls were weird but good.

My absolute favorite hang out! I am here at least once or twice a week. The wait staff is very friendly and efficient. Half price happy hour Sunday through Thursday all day on house cocktails, long islands and domestic drafts and small plate specials from 4-7pm and after 10pm. Lots of specials and email offers, opt in on your next visit!

A nice place to go if you want to lose weight. The food was good but the portions were too small for the expensive price. The wife and I went in the early evening and by the time we left it seemed like most people there were already drunk or bent on being so by the time they left (it seemed like all the gals were bumping into people and the guys were ready to fight). However, the restaurant is nicely designed and our server was nice. We had a chicken enchilada, the fire-grilled salmon and a bowl of chicken tortilla soup. The food wasn't bad.

The main reason I hit up Houlihans is for the half priced long islands Mon-Thursday. If I could rate this place on that alone, I would give it 5 stars. Food? 3. So for this review I'll split it down the middle and give it a four. I'm not a huge fan of the small bites that they replaced the appetizers with a few years ago. I understand that small bites are supposed to be small, but to get a decent amount of small bites for a group to share the price adds up. And what you get for the price is a little slim. If I do eat there, I usually settle on the chicken parm or the french dip. The portion size on the chicken is large and I've always got enough for a second meal of leftovers. The french dip is your typical french dip, but it's consistantly good. I have always been a fan of their mini burgers, delicious! However when it came to getting a full sized burger I found it severely lacking. The chicken alfredo is also something I would avoid. Small portion for the price and just not that good. For sides I like the mediterranean orzo and the golden mash. If you stop in for lunch, they have a lot of selections guaranteed to get to you in 15 min or less or its free. Which is great for the lunch breakers. In the end, I'd come back, and often do. But mostly for the drink specials.

My husband and I have fallen prey to their Wednesday specials a time or 3. Last night we once again took the bait. The deal of the day was 6.00 appetizers. We decided to split an order or.buffalo wings and an order of calamari. The wings were pretty darned tasty....BUT the calamari was lukewarm and kind of old ish tasting. The coating was greasy and chewy in that stale ole tasting way. This is not the first time we have had old, reheated tasting food from here. We re pretty much done.

We came here on Saturday night for some after dinner drinks. The place was packed so we found a place at the bar. When we initially we were served right away. after those watered down drinks were gone, it was like we were invisible. No one asked if we wanted another, if we needed anything. Yes, they were busy but everyone around us were getting served. We pretty much had to flag someone down in order to get served. The drinks were nothing to write home about. We will definetly not be returning.

Normally, I wouldn't have rated this place over four stars if it wasn't for our sensational server Sarah M! The food was delectable and the service was exceptional.

  • Marty G.

I am confused with the high rating - this place is 3 stars a-ok. I guess the people of Orland have low expectations for their culinary experience. I have been to other Hullihans and this one is a bit of a slacker. Service is ok - food is ok - everything is just ok - not good or great.

Eat here fairly often and love the foursquare check in deal for a free order of frites. The salmon and pot roast dishes are great, have gotten each more than once. Good taste and good portions. Unfortunately, this last time I was there I decided to order the scallops. Was excited for the lemon asparagus risotto rice that they were served with only to be disappointed by the lack of flavor. I thought the scallops could have used some more flavor too despite being seared. On the other hand, I do like that you can order the small order or large order of this.. Glad I ordered the small. Guess if I have a taste for scallops I'll be going elsewhere. But I will continue to frequent Houlihan's.

A very good casual night out. I decided to take the mom and the wife out on a Friday night and decided to come here for a casual night out. We arrived at 7:30pm without reservations...and the place was hustling and bustling. Our thoughts were "Great we are going to have to wait." But to our surprise, we were seated promptly and in the very first table behind the hostess table...SWEET! The ambiance is very contemporary with dark wooden accents, cool lighting fixtures, and granite pillars...very similar to Granite City. This one looks more refined compared to Granite City's rustic look. The service is very prompt, friendly and attentive. For starters, we ordered the jumbo stuffed shrooms, stuffed with garlic cream cheese and served with horseradish sauce. They were good, not goopy or slimy and very nice texture and flavor to them. My mother ordered a house chopped salad and the chicken tortilla soup and said they were very good. My wife ordered the herb grilled chicken, with asparagus and said it was flavorful and juicy. I ordered the huge panko shrimp, they are not that huge, but they are tasty and crunchy! Also, had the strawberry basil lemonade..which was very well prepared and added a nice complement with the basil. We also shared the creme brulee which was a very light, smooth and delicious end to our night. I've been here about a half dozen times and will be returning. Houlihan's has been consistent in bringing good service, savory food and a cool environment to hang out , without the pretentious attitude of other establishments.

We started out our evening here for dinner. No problem getting in, not to crowded. Most folks were sitting at the bar or outside enjoying the weather. Interior is nice and service is good. One note is they need to dust off the shelf the bunnies are growing. As for the food, there were four of us. 1 had the chicken enchiladas he said they were good but something was wrong with the limes, no juice dry as the desert. Fish tacos received a warm welcome and were enjoyed, Fried Shrimp was also very good. I had the Prime Steak and Wedge Salad, when the waiter asked if there was anything else we needed my friend said how about a steak. Yes it was a pitiful little 5oz thing laying there next to half a head of iceberg lettuce. It came with bacon, spicy pecans, gorgonzola cheese and cold grilled asparagus. It was not bad but the steak left a lot to be desired. They do offer great deals on drinks and appetizer specials. From the many choices in the area this is one to stop at.

Great place for some good all-American food. The service is also excellent. I really enjoy this place a lot more than some of the other restaurants along Lagrange because the service and cleanliness are top notch!

I really want to give 3 1/2 stars but I don't think I can. I ate here for the first time this weekend. We went at 8pm on a Friday and it was packed. At first we wanted to eat out on the patio but after being ignored for twenty minutes opted to go back inside. Our server was nice enough...but get this... just like the other AA guy mentioned on here...my server sat down at the booth accross from us and was like "Man you don't mind if I join ya for a second I am pooped" (paraphrasing) I looked over at him and said " Do what you must"n(paraphrasing) and proceeded to ignorehim as we happened to be speaking about something he had no buisness hearing. He left after a few seconds...but that was annoying...and yep I'm African American too...but I suspect that's not why he's doing it...he just wants to be "cool.." Anyway it's a decent date spot...If you want to get away from typical franchises like Chili's, The Outback and Fridays but you don't want to spend a lot of money. This is the spot for you. I had the stuffed mushrooms...they were a little better then average. My first Martini was nice and strong...but then I ordered their "taster" set of mini martinis...obviously made just for the taste...they were weak. My date had chicken wings...he said they were ok...but they looked a lil dry to me...shrooms were four dollars so I was a cheap date that night! The mini menu was very cute cause you could just do "tasters" all night. lol

When we want to go to a slightly nicer restaurant in the Tinley/Orland Park area, we would definitely choose this place over most others. In particular this restaurant compares well to both Rock Bottom and Coopers Hawk. We had no problem getting into Houlihan's, though we made a reservation (for Friday night). Once we were seated everything was better than Rock Bottom. The service was better, faster and friendlier. The food selection was far better. The bar offerings were interesting. The menu was cool looking and easy to follow. The ambience is far better than either at Rock Bottom or Coopers Hawk. The minimalist wood interior is classy, stylish, and free of chain cliches. I can't say I LOVE this place because after all it is but a chain. I like Buco di Beppa a bit better but Houlihan's is definitely on our Southlands shortlist from now on.

Went here for my B-day the scallops w risotto was perfect in flavor, taste and serving size. Green tea martini was awesome and they gave me dessert choc. Cappuccino cake for my B-day. Service was great and we were able to watch the Bulls ): lose as well. Go to Hullihan's and enjoy.

  • Linda. G.

Yes, this place is a chain but I still recommend it. While the food is decent, it is not the reason I come here. Sunday - Thursday they have 1/2 long island pitchers! The Texas Beach is my favorite! They just launched their small plates menu which is like ordering tapas, but I didn't really find anything on there that I absolutely loved. I like to order the shrimp sliders or the stuffed chicken entree when I eat there. The chicken nachos are huge and are good to snack on while watching a game, but other than that I'd focus more on the long island pitchers!

  • Todd M.

Great departure from most of the southwest suburban offerings. Nice atmosphere, attentive service, and the new "small plates" tapas-inspired menu is great. My only concern was the food was often overly salty, sugary, or frozen when fresh should have been used. At these moderate (even cheap) prices, somewhat forgivable. If the cooking staff stops trying to season everything to death and simply lets food flavors out, the small plate menu will succeed.

Construction Bob is going to run this place into the ground. They've stopped hiring experienced individuals and the quality and promptness have suffered.

First off, I have never been to Houlihan's before. My buddy and I were out in Orland Park and decided to try it out. We started out with the Chicken Chipotle Nachos, which everyone seemed to get. They were not very good. The tortilla chips were chewy and old. The chicken wasn't very good either. For dinner, my buddy got the filet mignon. He asked for medium-rare, and he received well done. They brought him and new steak, and this time it was raw. The lobster and asparagus he got with it was very good though. I got the Brentwood Chicken Sandwhich. It was mediocre at best. The service was all right, and the drinks were good. I just did not think the quality of the food was very good at all even for a chain.

Wasn't expecting much for the same reason Steven wasn't but wow. What a nice surprise. Very nice restaurant interior, and was more than happy with the food and service after visiting 3 times. Food is great (burgers very good, fish tacos also really good, and sashimi appetizer excellent). Chicken enchiladas a good solid choice too as are the Bloody Mary's! Slightly more expensive than Champps and Rock Bottom which are walking distance, but a consistent place that is a bit better than the other two.

Great drinks great food great service. Highly recommend the tortilla soup meat loaf or fish tacos. Long islands are amazing drink 3 and the food at next door champs would be bearable.

My personal opinion on Houlihans was terrible! Went there after shopping one afternoon, was really not busy, no reason for service to take its time but did. My husband was served lunch but mine was forgotten. No biggy. Ordered again and the server still didn't bring my meal out for another 45 minutes or so. "that was just a burger" E-mailed the management my experience, the manager e-mailed me an excuse and offered us a free meal next time, thought that was nice would give it another try, never received the free meal! Never will return again and will continue to tell others about our first time experience at Houlihan's go somewhere else for a better meal and service.

Good service. Not the best food but a good place to go if you want something different. I usually get their fish tacos. I like those they are good. Long islands are pretty good too. I think they have a special on long island pitchers one night during the week.

The place is nice and clean. Our waiter was excellent. The food was average. The pulled pork slider from the small plates menu was dry and tasted not like pork even after I returned it and had it remade a second time. My $12 Angus burger was a little dry patty with a lot of bread and veggies. McDonald's has better burgers and less expensive . The stuffed chicken wasn't good and didn't finish eating it. The pork eggrolls and pot roast fries were ok. I wouldn't go there again. I usually go to Champs next door will continue going there.

Monday - Thursday until 7 p.m. all appetizers in the bar are $5. The shrooms are tasty as hell, gigantic panko crusted fungus filled with cream cheese and served with horseradish sauce on the side. My personal favorite is the wonton tuna wraps, chunks served with a nice wasabi and cilantro cole slaw. The REAL DEAL is all long islands, which they have about 10 different kinds, are $3 (even after 7), and not for a friggin 12 oz. glass, but a 1/2 litre all for yourself! Now granted, I'm not sure how much alcohol actually goes in one of these as I have polished 2 off and felt barely buzzed, but they are a great conversation starter and what can you really expect for 3 bucks?

Had a pretty good evening out here at Houlihans. We went on a Saturday night at 5:00 and had to wait over 30 minutes, that was a disappointment. Wait staff was good, very friendly and very attentive. We were there to celbrate a birthday and for anyone that is celebrating a birthday you will be happy to know they won't sing to you here. We ordered the calamari and it was really good, but I wouldn't recommend it if you have more than 2 people. VERY SMALL SERVING! We also had the chicken nachos and those were great. Fish tacos were good. Seared ahi tuna salad was also very good. Good restaurant with great variety, much better than Champs which is also located nearby.

Went there with my bride on Friday evening at 6:00, we got a table immediately and the waitress was there within seconds. Ambience was great and the Manhattan was just to my liking (the waitress even asked if I wanted Whiskey or Bourbon, on the Rocks or straight up...Anyway, I had the Almond crusted Tilapia and the French Onion Soup, the soup was great, cheese melted, crouton not to soggy and good flavor. The only downside was the soup was so hot that the main course was there before I could finish it. The Tiliapia was a large portion two pieces and came with asparagus witha light buttery sauce and some fresh berries as decorations. The fish was not overcooked and the almond/panko breading was slightly bland but crisp which highlighted the flavor of the fish. My wife had a 1/2 slab of ribs and she said the flavor was good and the meat fell off the bone - personally I like a little fight rather than fall off the bone but thats just me. As we were leaving the person at the door asked how everything was and wished us a good evening - nice touch. We will definetly be going back.

Went there for my free birthday birthday entree. I couldn't decide what I wanted to order because they had so many options but I decided on a Long Island iced tea, which was great in flavor and presentation as well. I ordered the stuffed chicken which was amazing. I really enjoyed the garlic herb cream cheese that was stuffed in the breaded chicken breast. The potatoes were really good as well. I really like how they have food specials for happy hour and everyday drink specials. Can't wait to check out the patio!! The bartender (Jenn I believe was her name) was great. Was willing to help me make my decision and checked on me even though she was doing other work to set up the bar! I will definitely be back and recommend others to check it out, especially the patio!

We walked in with high expectations for a nice date night. What we got was far from. The hostesses were lovely and polite. We were seated quickly. We sat... And sat... And sat watching server after server just walk right past or just standing around talking. Thirty minutes later one of the hostesses walked past and I stopped her and told her no one had even taken our drink order. She said she would find our server. About ten minutes later a server came over and said she didn't know we were her table. She took our order and she seemed truly apologetic. It took about 20 minutes for our food. My boyfriend's burger was overcooked and part of my flatbread was touching the server's hand and then the table. I ate my flatbread and was less than impressed. I'm not ready to say we'll never go back because I believe in second chances but it won't be any time soon.

This is an old stand-bye and it always delivers. We came here for the Happy Hour delights. The drinks are specials only. So the Georgia Peach was a full 9 bucks for 1/2 a gallon. Rude! I went thru the menu and just started rattling off stuff. The lettuce wrap was nice as you get to make it yourself with the shell of an iceburg. The thai wings and buffalo wings were right on. Flavorful and juicy. The sliders were a bit disappointing. Pork was lacking flavor and the roast had an onion ring on top that just couldn't save the day. They both came with thick cut fries that had a dusting of seasoning. They would have been fine on their own. That just made them a bit salty. The server was attentive and friendly. She made the experience more enjoyable.

Went out with a friend to celebrate two birthdays, it was midweek so they were not real busy. Our sitting down was prompt and service arrived very quickly. Our food was very good as usual and the waiter's service was prompt and professional. He was a new waiter, so I was very surprised, I was initially worried because after ordering he returned to confirm our order. It was a very pleasant night with a friend and good food.

Seriously. The nicest Houli-scams I've ever been to. This is a newer location and that place is pretty nice on the insides. I'm used to grabbing a drink at the Wacker and Michigan location here in the city that's, well, a bit more seasoned. A good option if you're in the area. Price points seemed a little high for Houlihans but possibly, eh, it's not going to break the bank.

    (4)
  • Kathryn B.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. I like how you can make reservations on line and the food is delicious with just the right portion. I would go again if I was in the area and looking for a place to eat.

It's kind of strange, the first time I came here, it was relatively decent. The fried calamari was pretty good and I had a mushroom Burger with horseradish (don't recall the name) that was also good. However, the next three times that I've been here the food was bad, service was bad, and I will not go back.

Houlihan's is one of the best restaurants in the South Suburban area. I have never had a bad experience here. The food is always good and well seasoned. The prices are very reasonable. The ambience is wonderful and very swanky. It's a perfect place for a date or girls night out. The wait staffs are attentive and polite. I definitely recommend this place.

Long Island me please!!! But it seems like you guys are putting less alcohol and putting more juice no ice. It shouldn't depend on the bartender... But I love the chicken nachos

This place is a joke and a waste of time! I went here with my family and it took about ten mins to get seated when the place was dead on a Saturday night. When we did get seated it was right behind the hostess booth with a bunch of high school age workers chatting and hanging out. About another 15 mins go by and the waiter finally comes with no waters, etc ( mind you there was maybe four other tables there). I swear we almost went through the whole beer list and they were out of everything, even your basic domestics. The waiter had to go and check after everyone we tried to order too (half the time we saw him go back and play on his phone or chat for a bit before returning). We finally decided with some wines and ordered food. Again, this place was dead and we were waiting another 30 mins for our food. We asked to talk to the manager and told her that the wait times and beer issue was ridiculous. I can see being a out of a few, but everything you try to order? They should of used a company card and hit binnys or something to cover till they restocked the next day. She apologized with the usual responses as we continued to wait. Another 10-15 mins go by and we asked for her again. We told her that it was almost an hour without any food ( no appetizers served yet either) and we were leaving. Magically the food starts to come out and more apologies. We said we didn't care even though she offered to give us food for free. and were leaving on the principle of the whole situation. She gave us some $25 vouchers which I gave to a homeless guy the next day. You couldn't pay me to go back here. When a place is practically empty it shouldn't take long for anything. Just the waiters attitude was aggravating too.Like it was comical that they didn't have anything and how long it was taking. After an hour of wasting our time we ended up just cooking at home, which we should of done in the first place...... Unacceptable to run a business like this. I wish I could comment on the food but I never got to taste it. The manager needs to actually manage and not be chatty Kathy with the staff. Also, when almost all your beer is out and you say a service company is coming tomorrow, go buy some and get reimbursed later or something.

  • Sara C.

I've never been in here to eat, considering I felt like my business wasn't wanted. I went in to reserve tables for a coworkers going away celebration with 15 people, and the manager promptly told me since it was a Friday at 6:30(which was a 3 day notice) that "they don't reserve tables for groups on weekends" then tried to get us to come in when it was more convenient for them. I went to their competitor Champps, and they were more than happy to work with us. So we went there with our group and happily spent $687.74 cents. With how accommodating Champps was, we'll be taking our business there from now on. As someone who deals with customer service everyday, I can say yours was lacking, and a horrible first impression to a potential new customer

Yesterday was a total complete disaster. Once we, party of 5, were seated we received our drinks fairly quickly. After that, it went downhill FAST! In a nut shell, 45 minutes passed and NO APPETIZERS OR FOOD was served. We complained to the waiter and manager Brian. Nothing was done about it but excuses began to spew all over the place. My wife was given $75 discount coupons for the debacle. We returned today after being reassured by Lisa, Assistant General Manager, via telephone that we would receive the best service for yesterday failure. WOW!!! WE WERE ABSOLUTELY TOTALLY IMPRESSED!!! Lisa delivered! Lisa personally came over to our table. Sincerely apologized. Accepted responsibility. Made no excuses. Within a few minutes, our waiter Sam, came over to our table and was great!!! Sam was very bubbly and fun! Her demeanor was cool as hell! Her vibe was very positive. Our drinks were served to perfection within 2 minutes or so. Our appetizers were on our table before we can even say , KEEP CALM AND CHIVE ON! Soon right after, our entrees were served! Hot and ready! Sam took great care of our requests, as we did have a lot to ask. She was very patient and still remained super cool And bubbly ! I was very impressed! I couldn't believe it was the same restaurant. Lisa reassured us. Sam delivered. Great team!!! We shall return and ask for Sam again. KCCO!

Today was my first time coming here and it'll probably be the last time too. First off its so DARK! Outside and in! Lightning needs to be changed. Second the food was bland, temperature of food was too cold for my preference. We ordered the chicken avocado egg rolls, and chicken nachos both disappointment. Chicken is dark meat which I'm not a fan of. For the main entrees which came after 45 minutes! Crazy we were about to get up and leave, even crazier the place wasn't busy! Anyway I got the fish tacos after reading reviews on yelp.. They weren't as expected. So normal nothing special about them. My kids got: BBQ chicken flat bread very cold, tasteless, bread was stale. Chicken tenders, sirloin 4 oz w/ order of fries and mashed potatoes, chicken Parmesan , and husband got the salmon between sourdough bread. All disappointments, all cold, all bland . Save ur money go somewhere else! You waiting for cold bland tasteless food it's not worth it! I'd give it only 1/2 a star but guess that's not an option. I have it one star just cause waiter was nice.

I've been here so many times already and I just have to make another review... FISH TACOS!!!! They're so good. The server says that it is the one thing on the menu that no one (employees of Houlihans) ever get sick of. I'm sure they're good grilled too. I'll try it next time. Service was superb.

Was here last night ave the food was horrible. The strip steak was med well, dry and unseasoned. They were out of every potatoe product. The drinks were ok, good chicken tenders and atmosphere. This is a drinks and appetizer spot...

Orland Park has many dining options available and unfortunately Houlihan's is just another dime a dozen. It's your standard american pub fare. If you are just meeting for drinks, it's probably ok. But, with so many other options available around town i'm just not sure why i would go back. My burger was so, so and the price for dinner was $11 for a burger. In the end i just didn't feel i got value.

We have been to Houlihan's several times and we are never disappointed. The service is excellent and the food is always good! Our server, Kevin was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. The manager Chris stopped by just to make sure everything was to our satisfaction and gave us our dessert on the house!! I highly recommend this restaurant! You will not be disappointed!!

This place sucks. The food isn't good at all, and the music is horrendous. The servers suck. Our server brought us the wrong meal. YOU HAD ONE JOB! Overall, horrible experience. Will NOT be going back...

  • Kristen J.

Out of all the restaurants in Orland, this is by far one of my top go to choices. I come here pretty often, and always leave satisfied. Everything is always consistent, service is on point, and I always have a reason to come back. Out of all the times I've been here, I've only had one not so great experience, but it happens. They're steaks are great, loaded potato soup is amazing, and everything else is really worth trying. Plus they bring the kid's carrots and ranch to keep them busy while they wait for their meal. The servers are attentive, managers go around to ensure you're having a good meal, and you always see the hosts smiling and opening doors. I would definetely recommend this place if you're in the area!

Delicious food, great service. In town for work purpose;. I stopped by worried about how my experience would be considering some of the yelp reviews I had read. I didn't find that the negative reviews held any weight. My server, Brittany, was lovely, as were the support crew around her. I will come back next time I am in town.

I love Houlihan's! The food and service is always great and I've been here 30 million times. If I don't know what I'm hungry for, or we can't agree on where to go....we go to Houlihan's. I've had a lot of things on their menu; my favorites being: Center cut filet mignon, fish tacos, seared rare tuna wontons, stuffed shrooms, parm fries, spinach salad, and the soups. I love their mashed potatoes! This location is my absolute favorite. Follow their facebook/text messages for all their Wednesday deals. The best is when they offer free soup or salad AND dessert with every entree. Drinks are all good. The Long Island iced teas are half price Sunday-Thursday!

Full bar and a good place to have a beer. The food is mediocre at best. Great sports bar but save dinner for a different restaurant.

The waitress was amazing. The fact that they ran out of clean glasses on a Saturday night was unfortunate. Our apps came out before our drinks so that was different. The general manager walking around and looking at our drinks in to-go cups on the table could've at least said something but the strange look he gave us was interesting.

I have been to this Houlihans for multiple occasions. The food and service is very inconsistent. I always get the house salad, and sometimes a mini burger. Whether it is for dinner or lunch sometimes I will get a roll and sometimes I won't. Sometimes they bring you a cookie at the end of your meal sometimes they don't. I do wish they would stick with one thing. I have had many different servers, all of which I was unimpressed with. However this past Friday I went and our server Maddie was incredible. Best server I had thus far at Houlihans. Her demeanor set the perfect tone for our dinner. Mistakes were made through out our dinning experience but the way she handled them is what sets her aside from other servers. She is a great server and now I know to ask for her!

I had been here a few times before and I never had a problem, however this last time was terrible experience. 1. Ordered a soup for myself and salad for my wife for starter. Her salad was forgotten and finally given to us after 10 minutes after receiving my soup. 2. Ordered a refill, when it came the waitress took it upon herself to grab my straw and move it to the new cup. Now I'm not saying she's dirty, but I don't know anything about her. Very unsanitary thing to do. 3. 20 minutes after waiting they came to tell me they ran out of meatloaf. It took them 20 minutes after I ordered to realize they ran out? 4. I changed my order to a chicken sandwich after they ran out of meatloaf, and they still had the nerve to charge me for the meatloaf! It wasn't that big of a difference, but you would figure after they ran out of the food and made me change my order they would make sure to charge me correctly. Nope. 5. On top of all this my waitress seemed to have ignored me most of the night.

First off, outrageously, amazing, satisfying, real customer service. Our food took maybe an hour to come out, I didn't care at all because I was with my family enjoying the time together. I really didn't notice it was that long. Our waitress, the kitchen manager, and the general manager came to our table and apologized for the long wait (not all at once). We didn't care and said it was okay and not a big deal. They decided to pay for our appetizers and my steak that apparently came out cold? It really wasn't cold. Then they brought out 3 free desserts (we couldn't finish). All in all they payed $55 of our $140 bill. Houlihans is one of my favorite restaurants in Orland park. I recommend this place. It's fire.

I am a huge fan of Houlihan's. For me, it's all about Happy Hour here Sunday-Thursday. In my opinion, it's the only way to go. I wouldn't go here for an actual dinner or meal in general. Where Houlihan's really wins out is with a group of friends for Happy Hour drinks. Me and my coworkers frequent this place and always have a great time. The service has always been friendly and efficient. We all order some Long Island Iced Tea pitchers (Georgia Peach is my favorite!) and a bunch of appetizers (Stuffed Mushrooms, yum!). And you really can't beat the price during happy hour... 1/2 off 1 liter pitchers anyone?! And definitely get a seat on the patio when it's nice out! Definitely recommend Houlihan's with a group of friends to have a good time in the early evening!

Buffalo Chicken fingers are the best you can find!! Wish they'd bring back the fried goat cheese, it was sooo good.

Went with my coworker and boss yesterday this is one of her favorite restaurants and I had high expectations. I only eat fish and ordered the Atlantic salmon and it was just okay I wish they would have had a tasty sauce to go along. They enjoyed their meals though.

The prices seem to be the best thing about this place. The food looks good, but doesn't really taste half as good as it looks. Granted we came in late on a Saturday night, but we still expected hot, tasty food. When my friend and I checked in on Foursquare or Yelp (can't remember which) we got a free order of Frites (fries) which I figured oughtta be good. The fries came and they weren't really hot. They tasted alright. I got a salad, and my friends got meals. One got the chicken alfredo and the other got a sandwich I think. They didn't seem impressed. Not sure why the food wasn't all that, the place wasn't crowded, maybe the kitchen staff was tired because it was the end of the night.... If I decide to come back here, I l'll come earlier, and won't order what my friends ordered.

If you are part of their birthday club, you get a free meal on your birthday. I like that. Most places just give you free dessert these days. There is literally something here for everyone. If you can't find something you like, then you don't like food. The menu is actually more on the overwhelming side, it's so hard to narrow down what I want when I go there! They have a good mixed drink menu, but not a good beer menu. So this is great for a girls dinner or night out with friends. I got a seared tuna salad there...it tasted great, but could've used more tuna. It was just meh, after that. I wasn't really full. The margaritas were great, but I don't think our server understood us EVER. We went for a girlfriend's birthday, and we had to constantly ask him for more drinks. We figured out that we needed to ask him 3 times before ever getting anywhere. It became the big joke of the night, how we had to ask 3 times before getting anything. It eventually became more annoying, though. All in all, I like Houlihan's, but probably would not go to this location again, based on service alone.

  • Patty S.

I have never had a bad experience at this location. The staff is always very friendly without checking on you every five minutes. The drinks are good and I've liked every chicken entree I've tried! I would suggest signing up for their e-mails because you always get a coupon or special for that Wednesdays and an AMAZING birthday discount!

Houlihan's is good, not great. I do come here often enough that I have tried a wide variety of items on the menu. Most are as you would expect, nothing stands out as a "must try". If you're looking for a restaurant that is going to deliver on it's promises but really don't expect to be socks-blown off wowed, then Houlihan's is a fine place to go. The service is always spectacular, and the turn-around time from ordering to having the food at the table is typically pretty short. Also, they do cook up a pretty mean steak. (good thing!)

Excellent management and the drink specials are great. Food is pretty good, but inconsistent.

  • Ed B.

Really pretty good food for a chain. The portions are on the small side. But the quality is better than average. The stuffed mushrooms are great. The steak and chicken Parmesan is decent. The salads are pretty good. I have eaten a great portion of the menu so I can safely say that all I had I enjoyed. Pretty good choice for the cost in the area.

Food menu items are sooo appealing. But what you expected from reading isn't what you get. The prices are obviously low. Service you have to wait so long before you get your order placed. Food comes out nice but not flavorful.

I have never had a bad experience at Houlihan's. The service is always good, they have the best chocolate martini's around. I highly recommend either the meatloaf or the pot roast.

Every time we went there it was terrible....gave it 3 tries and I'm done. The last time we went, my 3 yr old wanted a burger off the kids menu. I made sure to say well done....came pink....sorry not ok for my toddler.

As far as chain restaurants go, Houlihan's is easily my favorite. The place is clean with a fun atmosphere. Service seems to be top notch as far as chains go too. On our last visit our waitress misunderstood and took my friend's dish rather than boxing it up. They made him a whole new salad to take home. The food is good, and I think Houlihan's has by far the most exciting and creative menu of any chain. I love the small plate menu. The fish tacos are awesome! The smores fondue might be my favorite restaurant dessert ever! Orland Park is a mecca of chain restaurants, but I think Houlihan's stands above the rest.

  • Rick B.

Houlihan's - 3 Stars: another nice find in Orland Park. This noisy, boisterous restaurant has a great feel to it ... youngish crowd and an excellent selection of food. We like the small plates that allow one to get a taste of more than one item. Good beer selection also. Recommended for all family groups.

  • Niki R.

This is my favorite place to eat in Orland Park. I highly recommend the scallop dinner. It is to die for. The atmosphere is fun and the service is usually on point. They have a nice patio for summer fun and you can enjoy a drink by the fire outside. There is nothing that I don't like here and I have always been happy with whatever I order.

  • Chelsea K.

Our server was AWESOME. A totally fun guy. So much so, that I wanted to get all 5-year old on him and say, "Hey, can we be friends?" The tuscan bean salad was delish. Like lick-the-plate-clean delish. The chicken parm, however? It fell flat. Don't get me wrong, I still ate it. It certainly wasn't BAD. But it was just standard. And when you really impress me with the appetizer, you set a high bar for the entree - it just didn't meet it. Tuesdays are 1/2 off Long Islands, if you're into that kind of thing. And I would suggest visiting on a Tuesday anyway, even if you're not into that kind of thing. We were seated right away, got our food quick, and our drinks were refilled like nobody's business.

Stuffed chicken was absolutely delicious. I would definitely order that again! While it is a chain we certainly are comfortable and satisfied when leaving. We meet with friends here often and always enjoy the atmosphere, food and drink.

In a sea of chain restaurants that is Orland Park, Houlihan's is my favorite. I really like their small plates menu. It is great to share a bunch of different things and it makes for a much less expensive check. The Parmesan Frites are great and the three dipping sauces are really what makes it. For dessert I usually get the s'mores fondue or the donuts. Both excellent. I also always have great service here and if you call ahead on a Friday or Saturday for a reservation you won't have to wait for a ridiculous amount of time before being seated.

  • Jeremy A.

We visited Houlihan's for lunch with a few beers. I would have to say, I am pretty impressed with the place! We arrived a little while after they opened, and were seated quickly. The beer selection was decent, with prices being about average for the area. The 3 slider combo was awesome! I had one pork bbq, one burger, and one pot roast sandwich. I also had the "parmesan frites" with a trio of sauces. Unfortunately, ketchup was one of the three sauces? Still, some pretty great food, and I would not mind returning. I know Houlihan's is a chain restaurant, but it's a nice change from the usual places.

Had a large birthday dinner here for my brother. I've never eaten here before but I've heard good things from many people so I booked the reservation. Here's the good and bad...Pros - We were seated right away, waiter was very attentive but wasn't too much, manager came around to check on us, food was hot. Cons - The food just wasn't anything special at all!!!! Everyone at the table just felt like the food was just ok. My brother had the steak and lobster tail, two of his favorite things on earth and he just said it was fine but he's had better. I had the buffalo bleu cheese chicken salad, which i was taken aback because the salad dressing it was tossed in wasn't bleu cheese but some sweet type of ranch dressing which i did not like, but once they gave me my bleu cheese it was ok. My bf had the chicken alfredo and he likes olive garden's much better. So none of us were impressed. The atmosphere would be nice for a date night, but i don't think we will be back.

I don't like BLT's so tonight when my wife said, BLT's or take Houlihan's up on this 15% off coupon they emailed me? I replied, Put your coat on. Since it's about 90 degrees out we didn't even have to do that. We shared their Asian ribs which are spicy and good. I had the NY strip special which I found to be very good. I like steak, what can I say. For dessert, the donut dessert and coffee. Left very satisfied and only slightly worried that we will probably have the BLT's tomorrow.

I hate, hate, hate chains but I have to admit, if you're going to go to one, this one is absolutely decent and even above-average. I have been to this Houlihan's three times and also to one near Kansas City, where the chain began a long time ago. The service is generally good, but what is nice is the contemporary ambiance, the full bar, and the attention to every table from management. The variety on the menu is really commendable, especially if you are vegetarian or in any way health conscious. I LOVE the white bean salad. The one complaint I have is that they got rid of the Skinny Cutini cocktail. That really was great. The new drink list includes something called a Skinny Raspberry Mojito, which I tried but really didn't like. It kind of tasted artificial. On this last visit, my mother had a Long Island and it was HUGE. She's a petite woman and she wasn't even buzzed, so I have to believe that they skimp on their alcohol pours. Regardless, if you're stuck in strip mall hell in Orland and need a break, Houlihan's is a very suitable oasis in sea of sameness.

Great friendly staff, amazing spinach artichoke dip, chocolate wine-tini's and mini plates of goodness - How can you go wrong!!?? You Can't. Unless you only stay for 1 drink and leave. But who does that? I love this place for happy hours with the gal pals. We can enjoy great drinks, awesome food and a good space to chat and giggle. we also don't spend oodles so we can keep coming back.

I used to love houlihan's, until they started hiring people off the streets with no experience in cooking simple American food. It's sad cause they focus more on the quantity rather the quality.

I know, Houlihan's is a chain. But I have to admit, I just really like it! We go there a lot and today's visit was a pleasure just like our other ones. We got seated right away and had our favorite server, Travis. He is not only a great server but over the years we have discussed history and politics with him, a bonus! We had the lettuce wraps to start, which are my favorite lettuce wraps. For entrees, I had the Parmesan crusted Tilapia with berries and asparagus. It's a great combination of crunchy, fruity tastes and textures. It feels healthy so don't tell me if it's not! My husband had the NY Strip, a little risky in a chain in my opinion but he really liked it. I love desserts here because they are not the normal huge serving and stickiness, calories and heart attack a la mode of most chains. They have small tastes and fun choices. I had the Snicker one which went great with coffee. A very satisfying meal with superb service and we got home before the rain turned to snow, great Midwestern Saturday afternoon. Only thing that could improve a meal here is to come in the nice weather when their patio is divine.

Haven't had a poor/bad moment yet. Good service: supportive and customer centric staff. I'm usually seated within minutes of entering and my orders are timely. Easy access/ easy exit along La Grange Rd. on Orland Park.

Visited on 05/03/2013. The liter size Long Island (Raspberry) are great and good value at 7.75, even though it is not actually a liter. Our Server (Lucia M) did not write down our orders, and delivered wrong salad dressing and wrong side dish. Salad dressing portion is too small for size of salad. Both 4oz and 8oz Filet Mignon were smaller than expected. The side portions are too small.

I have been back over a dozen times since my first experience. I was probably grouchy that night. I love the food, especially the Scallops with asparagus risotto. Staff has always been friendly and fast, we've become regulars.

I love coming here for drinks and appetizers. We've had almost everything on the 'small bites' menu and haven't encountered anything bad yet. We haven't been able to avoid the Parmesan Frites and the pitcher of Sangria; they're very addicting! (The pitcher is only $12!) I would suggest signing up for their emails for coupons. I believe the first one you get may be a free appetizer. Wednesday must be the slow night because they have a deal via email each week.

I mean, can you really not like a place that has 1/2 priced long islands Sunday through Thursday? My friends and I come here for both food and beverages quite a bit. Their appetizers are great and I definitely recommend the fried artichoke and cheese. Easily my favorite entrée dish is their scallops and risotto. Service is always friendly and fast and I constantly see a manager walking around making sure everything is running smooth and customers are happy. I highly recommend this place for a cheaper (but still nice) date night if you're on a budget. And I definitely recommend this place if you and a few other people want to unwind with some wonderfully-priced cocktails after work. Fun tip: They always have free coupons in the quarterly Restaurant Directory!

We had 8 people with us and later that night and the next day we were all experiencing symptoms of food poisoning. Most of us has chicken based dishes and apps. One had steak and one had a burger. Probably will never go to that location ever again. Positive.. the server (Ashley) was really friendly and did a good job.

This is one of my favorite places to eat. The food is amazing, the drinks are great and not as expensive as most other places, but the best part of this restaurant is the service. I have always had great service at this restaurant from walking in to leaving. If you go you have to try the Italian doughnut wholes. They are a little slice of heaven.

  • Heather C.

This place is terrible. A lot of the food is awful, when we were there half of our tables food was cold, half of the table got our food a good 5 minites before the other half, none of us liked the corn (how do you mess up corn?), and the portions are really small. When our party of 8 was seated we were given 1 menu to share and had to actually ask the waiter for a couple more. And the wait time was awful to order, to get our soup/salad, get drinks, to get refills, to get our check... No one that was working was in much of a hurry, even though it was a saturday night and it was moderately busy. all of the tables surrounding ours were complaining as well. One table actually got their food and left after speaking with the manager (who was not even dressed professionally), they took one look at it and didnt want to eat it. Honestly, there's a Champp's next door and a Rock Bottom across the street--- your money will be much better spent elsewhere.

Met Patricia K. here for lunch around noon on a Sunday. I thought this place was closed when I walked in since there were almost no people in the restaurant. My veggie sandwich was really good and it comes with a choice of sides including Mediterranean orzo, mashed potatoes, fries, vegetable of the day, rice. It's kind of nice to have a choice besides french fries. Everyone's food seemed to be pretty good - but not amazing. They have a nice kids menu including apple sauce and ice cream. Service was standard. Our waiter looked like he just came from the nearby Lifetime Fitness, goes there on his breaks and before and after work too.

It's been a while since we ate here. We had the disco fries as an appetizer. Fries w/ pot roast poured on it. For $5, I don't think it was worth it. Too salty for me and I like salt. I had the stuffed chicken breast. It seemed like it took a little too long to arrive. Nothing special. The mashed potatoes weren't hot & seems like they were sitting on the plate until the chicken was ready. Overall, the place had a nice look inside, but the food wasn't worth the price.

This is our second trip here, first was better. The pro: great drink specials and nice waitress. Cons: the hostess was terribly crabby. Her whole day appeared wrecked but hey. Nice place overall, we will still come back.

I went here about 2 weeks ago with a friend and it was ok the food was rather generic and mediocre. I didnt like the chicken fettucine alfredo because the chicken kind of tasted burnt and was a bit on the salty side. Dessert was ok nothing to write home about and the service was ok but the patrons in there are kind of snotty like you didnt belong there since Orland comes off to me as one of those upper crust suburbs where if you're not rocking a Blackberry or some expensive smartphone with a Coach or Louis Vuitton handbag you dont fit in. I have had better than Houlihans after eating at this place in two different locations. Plus my friend and I waited for a table for nearly 45 minutes and spent that at the bar having a drink before dinner and I wasnt impressed by the nasty looks some of the customers were giving to me as if they never saw a black person in their entire lives.

I stopped in today for a casual lunch date and I was impressed. There were many options to choose from on the lunch menu, nearly all of which were under fifteen dollars. They also guarantee that your food will be out within 15 minutes or its free, which is a good thing if you are on your lunch break. I opted for the chicken tortilla soup and the buffalo chicken salad combo and I enjoyed them both. I had red sangria to drink but I wasn't a fan. Our server was extremely fast and friendly. I will be back .

I don't want to say they have a perfect steak but they have a really good steak! I've had both the Filet Mignon and their New York Strip . . . both are delicious. My friend always enjoy the mini Filet. The steak is always juice, seasoned and you don't need any time of steak sauce (don't insult the steak that way!). I've been here on several occasions now. I thought it was time to give what have become my regular spot a review. While I do enjoy their food and those wonderful Key Lime Pie Martini's (DELICIOUS), their service is sometimes lacking. Friendly but it seems like their wait staff are constantly making mistakes. For one instance a waitress brought my salad after I already had my entree and didn't remember I ordered rolls until I told her to cancel that order (what type of mess is that?). She constantly made mistake through out the night. Another waiter refuses to write down your order as if to give off he's a pro at this. Yea, it impressed me the first time I had him until he started forgetting food and getting the wrong order. Bruh, just write it down! Still the waiter was friendly but that waitress was just snotty.

WE love this place. The steak and wedge salad is terrific. Just a nicely done four ounce steak with a wedge of iceberg, covered with blue cheese dressing and a slice of quality blue cheese. A few nice touches like the asparagus and light beets with the wedges of hot, fried polenta make this a meal. Drink specials are quite worth it, such as the Long-Island specials Mon-Thurs and 6.95 appetizers, such as the Chicken Nachos-huge. The staff is friendly and we see plenty of regulars, at the same time, same day we visit there. So that says something about the "Cheers-everybody knows your name atmosphere." The decor is sophisticated for Orland Park and again, the food is pretty darn great!

YEA!!! A special thanks to our server Frank. My Houlihans experience was excellent! We celebrated our rehersal dinner here and Ashley was so kind and accomodating with our reservation. She printed special menus for us, and arranged a special dinner package to offer our guests. It was a wonderful evening, the staff was attentive and our server was efficient and friendly.

Love this place! Great appetizers (try the mushrooms!) Probably my favorite place to grab a bite last minute. Plenty of drink specials and the food is above average for a chain restaurant. Nice outdoor seating area in the spring/summer as well. I'd recommend the Fish Tacos, & the Filet, both will not disappoint!

  • D H.

I go here regularly and have never been disappointed though I will say I was here over the weekend and ordered the loaded baked potato because I wasn't especially hungry. It's a good thing as apparently our definitions of "loaded" are somewhat different. There was a few pieces of chopped bacon and a little bit of cheese and butter (and I got the sour cream on the side) but not nearly enough to flavor the entire potato which was of normal size. (small) I wouldn't order it again or would request more on the side-otherwise it's way too dry.

Great food and great service tonight. Our waiter made recommendations for dinner and was 100% correct from the chicken fingers appetizer to the soups to our individual meals. The long island ice tea was great. I recommend the long beach long island ice tea. Service was prompt and friendly. Overall a very comfortable classy decor

The interior makes me very happy - I love the orange lighting and entire design scheme, so I'm adding a star just for ambiance. It gets me all zen and ready to enjoy tasty bites, Which is a good thing now that they have the small plates menu. You can tapasize Houlihans very easily, try a variety of tastes, and keep your budget from shrieking. My fave appetizers are the seared rare tuna wontons and the chicken and avocado eggrolls.Holy Yum. The grilled asparagus salad is tasty (but don't skimp on that white truffle vinaigrette, kitchen!) Throw a Zen Green Tea martini or two into the mix, and say ahhh.

I'm gonna sum this one up so quickly, you wouldn't even think it were me reviewing the place... Stuffed Chicken Breast and Pomegranate Mojitos The end....and a very happy one at that!

This place has alright food. It kinda reminds me of a trendy applebees. I have been here 10+ times during the lunch hour and I would recommend the chicken wrap. However do not get the fish tacos... Also the sliders are g0o0o0o0o0od!

Went to the bar for a drink and the bartender had to consult with the other workers who were eating to see if they had a particular liquor. She came back around the bar and it took a few minutes for her to find the first ingredient and then began the search for the second ingredient. This inexperience did not give me confidence in how the drink would taste. It was a manhattan, nothing complicated. We left before the difficult task was completed. This was a Saturday around 4:30. How about someone getting off their ass to assist the poor inexperienced girl? It had to be her first hour ever behind the bar. The hostess had a strange indifferent, inexperienced attitude as well. I don't like when a restaurant leaves it to the 12 yr. olds to handle things. I'd be afraid to order food. How about employing some adults!
